09-11-2016—New Mosaic

Finished mosaic-ing front stairway. Grandma Prisbrey would be proud. Or at least I hope so.

Like most of the mosaics I make, this project was an excuse to house a particular ceramic piece that I couldn't part with. Unfortunately, I broke a majolica candle stick of baby Neptune riding a dolphin. Here's a close-up of the dolphin's face, which looks like the 1950s Creature from the Black Lagoon.
