08-27-2016—Fake, Ahem—Faux, Grass

I'm a lover of all things plant. But not fake plant. Fake plants are so unlike what they're trying to be like, it's depressing. Of course not everyone feels the same. Several of my neighbors have fake lawns. One yard in particular uses fake grass with such restraint, even plastic plant haters can begrudgingly appreciate it.

It helps that the rest of their yard is super cool.

08-16-2016—Coral Conundrum

On its own, I like this coral shade, but it's difficult to pair with other flowers. Maybe an ample foliage buffer is needed? Lime-green might be nice.

I like this light mauve-lavender hue against blue and cream colored succulents.

08-05-2016—The Plant-Destroyer (Phytón-Phthorá)

Purchased Aeonium ‘Shamrock' from clearance pile at Home Depot. Noticed an area where the tips were brown and thought it was sun damage. Cut off brown parts and planted. Below is photo two weeks later. Tissue necrosis across the plant. Phytophthora? Didn't know cacti/succulents were susceptible to Phytophthora, but that's what it looks like.
